If I am mobile I may not need therapeutic positioning. However, it is always worth keeping an eye on my mobility and, should my circumstances change, be mindful that I may need some positioning equipment.
As I regularly use a wheelchair it is likely that I will start to find it more difficult to fully straighten my hips and knees. For this reason I will need to have access to therapeutic positioning to protect my body shape, existing mobility and quality of life.
Because I spend a great deal of my time in bed it is essential that I am well supported. This will help me to relax in a comfortable, supported position, whilst helping to prevent secondary complications such as contractures and reduce my risk of pressure injury.
